Breaking News: MoveOn.org the New KKK?

Bill O'Reilly just asserted on his program tonight, the 23rd of July at 7:05pm, that it is fair to say that "MoveOn.org is the new Klan."

Update: September 1-4

I will be doing my best to watch the Republican Convention on September 1-4, and I will do my best to blog my thoughts on how well I think it goes.

The main thing I will be looking for is how hard will the Republicans push to reclaim America's First Principles, or will they try to "capture" the Center before the Dems do?
  • Free and Open Markets
  • Limited, Effective Government
  • Individual Liberty
  • Traditional American Values
  • A Strong National Defense
  • Peace through Strength
  • Federalism
  • The Rule of Law
  • Conserving America's Resources
  • Environmental Stewardship
  • Free Speech
  • Religious Liberty
  • Personal Responsibility
  • Self-Government

Note: I do have to mention that Newt Gingrich's group, American Solutions, has created a Platform that has a petition that accompanies it. You can find the petition on www.AmericanSolutions.com. That Platform, to me, looks to be the closest thing to embracing America's First Principles. That is why I have signed American Solutions' petition. Also, before I forget, American Solutions will be presenting the Platform to both parties conventions, so they need all the signatures they can get.

Gen. Petraeus as Centcom Commander and World War III/IV

Could counter-insurgency strategies be the winning strategy for this World War that we're in? I could be wrong, but I think we were actually using a counter-insurgency strategy in Vietnam, and it was working. A counter-insurgency strategy is working in Iraq. It could work in the Afghan-Pakistan conflict.

If counter-insurgency strategies are working for individual conflicts, could we apply a Counter-Insurgency Strategy to our entire World War Strategy? Is that why President Bush named Gen. Petraeus as the new Centcom Commander - because President Bush wants to apply the successful Counter-Insurgency Strategy to the entire Middle East?

We'll see what Gen. Petraeus has in mind as soon as he assumes his position, and starts making decisions.

The two other ways that could complement a wide range Counter-Insurgency Strategy are:
  • Use the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC.gov) to help allies in the regions (e.g. Middle East) build up their economies, which in turn, will build alliances in this World War.
  • Expand free trade to all of our allies and friends, which will help build alliances in this World War.

"Drill Here. Drill Now"

The conservative National Review Online ran an excellent op-ed by Michele Bachmann. She writes about her trip with the House Republican Leadership, the trip titled the "American Energy Tour."

I'll let y'all read her op-ed for yourselves, but she makes an excellent case for drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR). In short, by showing that the parts of ANWR that would be explored for oil are...basically...the parts that aren't the "pristine" parts.

Where conservatives want to drill in ANWR, I think, plants can't grow, and the animals that exploration would supposedly do loads of damage to actually love the warmth of the pipeline. My question is if it's so dangerous to the animals, then why can't the animals sense that it's supposedly so dangerous?

On a finishing note, the new technological breakthroughs that we have make it so much easier to explore and drill with doing very little to no damage to God's Creation (the environment). So let's let the free market work, and say "YES!" to all energy sources with no government regulations.

Conservative Influence on Republican Platform

Fellow Conservatives,

Go to www.gopplatform2008.com and submit pro-freedom conservative ideas in hopes to influence the Republican Party Platform.

Keep in mind America's First Principles:

  • Free and Open Markets
  • Limited, Effective Government
  • Individual Liberty
  • Traditional American Values
  • A Strong National Defense
  • Peace through Strength
  • Federalism
  • The Rule of Law
  • Conserving America's Resources
  • Environmental Stewardship
  • Free Speech
  • Religious Liberty
  • Personal Responsibility
  • Self-Government
Conservative American citizens actually have a place where we can influence a Party Platform without having to go to the Convention! Let's take advantage of this opportunity!
